1 month check up and new brother & sister

Addison had her one month check up Monday. She had lost down to 7lbs and 14oz and she's 22 inches long. So she grew taller but she's losing weight and Dr. Machen wants to figure out why so we go back in 3 days. (Honestly, how much weight can she gain in 3 whole days.) Anyways. She's been sleeping thru the night (like 7 and 8 hours if I'll let her) and she's been spitting up a little which I think is the formula that WIC gave us. She didn't do this on the sensitive stomach formula. So we switched back to the sensitive to see if that's what's causing it. She had her 2nd Hepatitis shot and actually only cried for a second or two until Josh gave her her pacifier. I refused to hold her while she was getting the shot. :) When I told the doctor that she likes to sleep on her stomach and sleep all night, he said that she can't sleep on her stomach and I needed to wake her up to eat. Yeah right! Wake a sleeping baby AND make her mad by putting her on her back. Yeah ok. So that night...she slept on her stomach and slept for 6 hours. :) Other than all of that he said she was neurologically doing good. Very alert and had good color so over all she's good.

I went back to work on Monday but only took a half day to go to her doctor's appointment. Yesterday was my 1st full day back to work and I was proud...I only cried once. lol Josh keeps Addison while I'm working. I'm glad because that gives him and his mom time to spend with her and now that we've introduced them to her brother and sister that gives them time to bond with her too since the boys have already had a month with her.

Which leads to the new brother and sister. On Sunday Josh explained to the kids about Addison and I brought Addison to meet them. I'm sure it was a little confusing but since they're so little they were just excited about the idea of a baby. I'm sure all of us will be getting questions asked in the future and we will just have to take them all one step at a time but for right now they are doing really well with her. Once the newness wears off like it did with the boys then it'll be easy to get to some kind of normal with everybody. Right now everybody of course wants to hold her and play with her and always be touching but I know that will die down so I just let all the kids (all 4!) help and do as much as they want to so none of them feel left out. Jacob of course likes carrying her around and actually does really good with her and is a HUGE help so I let him do as much as he wants so he doesn't get jealous. I think of the 4 of them, he will be the one to be protective since he's the oldest. I did get asked by one of them "if she's my sister, and she's his sister, then does that make us brothers?" I'm still trying to figure out how to explain that one to them. Luckily the short attention spans helps out a lot.

Made Daddy hold her while she got her shot. :)

1 month checkup pic...yeah bad pic I know :(

Addison Nicole Dalton

I know it's taken me two weeks to put her first blog on here so I'm posting her 2 week pictures too. Addison was born on April 20th, 2010 at 12:45p.m weighing 8lbs 3oz. We went in that morning to be induced at 7. They started inducing at 8:30am and was already breaking my water around 10am. Then at 12:35, Dr. Myers came in and put on his scrubs and got ready to start pushing. She was born at 12:45. This labor was EXTREMELY fast. I was really lucky and had almost no pain at all except for feeling a few contractions right before they gave me the epidural. I did get sick once but that was from the epidural. I went ahead and warned them before so they could give me the bucket. :) Josh was able to cut the cord without getting sick but did turn his head when I was getting sick. Go figure. She was born on a Tuesday and by 3pm on Wednesday we were already home again. It was ridiculous how fast everything went. She's been doing really good and especially for only being 2 weeks old now. She sleeps all night long already and has turned over once from laying on her stomach and getting so mad that she kicked herself over. :) We had her pictures taken like we did with the boys when she turned 2 weeks. She's already extremely spoiled. Always wants to be held and gets mad when you don't talk to her or when she's put in her car seat. Jacob and Eli have done very very good with her so far and Jacob is my little babysitter right now. He makes sure that I feed her and change her diaper when she needs it (like I've not already done this twice already.) lol He even fusses at me if I don't get her bottle to her fast enough. They've also done really good with Josh around too. We were worried about how they would do having Josh at the hospital since they haven't been around him but they've already liked having him around again and none of them has even skipped a beat. Now we're just waiting to introduce her to her other brother and sister. Will post an update on that when the time comes. Here's some pics.

Going home picture...hospital pic didn't turn out so good.
